ATOM Addressable Modules
ATOM Control Modules comprise the heart of the Addressable Track System. The module contains all the “smart”
electronics required to create an unlimited variety of lighting effects. There are two control modules and a Track
Master Module to choose from:
1 ATOM Track Dimming Control Module
Provides full range dimming and on/off control of line and low voltage (both magnetic and electronic) incandescent
sources up to 250W. Attaches anywhere along Track and accepts commands from the ATOM Laser Remote Control
and Wall Remote Control Units.
2 ATOM Addressable Track On/Off Control Module
Provides on/off switching of non-dimmable loads such as uorescent, CFL and HID up to 250W. Attaches anywhere
along Track and accepts commands from the ATOM Laser Remote Control and Wall Remote Control Units.
3 ATOM Track Master Module
The control unit that receives and sends signals using Power Line Carrier technology along the Track from a single
location. Used to cycle scenes, create lighting effects and dim, raise, lower or turn on or off the light levels on all
modules on the Track simultaneously. The Track Master Module may also be used with Lightolier’s Compose PLC
Firewall to communicate with Track heads on other circuits.
Programming the ATOM System
1 Install the desired Dimming and/or On/Off Modules between the desired Lytespan Track heads and Track.
Install the Track Master module on the same Track if you wish to control multiple modules at once to create
cycle effects, or if you wish to communicate through Lightolier Compose PLC Firewall to other circuits. Use
one Track Master per branch track circuit.
2 “Select” each module for programming by targeting the “sensor window” on the side of each module with
the laser pointer contained in the handheld Laser Remote Control. A red LED will blink in the sensor window
on Dimming modules selected and a green LED will blink in On/Off modules selected. The selected modules
are now “activated” for programming. You may select and program individual modules or groups of modules
at the same time.
3 Program the selected modules using the keypad on the handheld Laser Remote Control. Set the modules to
the desired light level or on/off setting for the particular application. The handheld remote control uses IR
(infrared) signals during the programming phase. No laser will be visible, just aim the control in the direction
of the modules. Scenes, fading and cycling effects may all be programmed at this time.
4 Press the “Learn” button on the handheld Laser Remote Control to “store” the chosen settings. From this
point forward use the Laser Remote Control or a Wall Master Control to select desired scenes.
ATOM Module Effects
Scene Setting: Lighting effects and light levels can be stored in each module for use at any time. Each group of
stored settings is called a scene. Each module can store six programmable and on/off scenes.
Fading Effects: The time transition between scenes can be programmed into each module. Modules are
pre-programmed with a 3-second fade rate between scenes that may be extended to 30 minutes or reduced
to 1.5 seconds.
Cycling Effects: The modules will cycle through scenes with programmed fade and timed delays in a continuous loop
or a single cycle. This function requires a Track Master Module.
Addressing: Allows you to set and address individual mod-
ules to run several completely separate ATOM sys-
tems on the same Track. Setting an address will
also allow you to communicate with the Com-
pose PLC line of controls.
